ReplyDeleteIn 2015, while still married, my then wife found an academic program in Canada. Knowing her academic and professional prospects were better than mine, I reluctantly agreed to go with her and support her in her project. It soon became clear to me, as it surely did to her, that the project just was not possible on her own due to financial constraints. I remained in Canada and supported her as best I could, until her master's degree was completed and her Ph.D was almost done, when the relationship deteriorated enough for me to definitively walk away.
